Danielle and Joshua

We're Danielle and Joshua — a couple based right here in Santa Fe, raising chickens, training for ridiculous endurance races, and quietly building a life around the people, places, and animals we love. Joshua is a technology professional and an endurance athlete, which is to say he's reliable to a fault and slightly underfed. Danielle works locally, has a soft spot for every animal she meets, and is the reason your dog will be more relaxed when you get home than when you left. We take a small number of clients so every home and every animal gets our full attention. That's not a marketing line — it's the only way we'd want to do this.

    Text, call, or email. We usually respond within a few hours, often within minutes if we're not on a sit.

    A quick conversation so you know who you're talking to before you ever share a key.

  3. Lock Your Dates

    Request your preferred dates through our calendar. We'll hold them while we get to know each other.

  4. Meet & Greet

    A free 20-minute visit at your home before anything is final. You meet us, your pets meet us, and you decide.

  5. You're Booked

    Payment after the meet & greet via cash, check, Venmo, Cash App, or crypto. Whatever's easiest for you.

You don't pay a cent until you've met us in person and decided we're the right fit. If we're not — no charge, no awkwardness, no pressure to explain. We'd rather earn your trust than collect a deposit.

The questions everyone asks first.

We have the addresses and phone numbers of every 24-hour emergency vet in the Santa Fe area memorized. We'll call you immediately — but if you're unreachable and your pet needs care, we'll get them seen first and update you the moment we have a phone in hand. We carry your written authorization on file before every sit.

Because trust comes first, and a credit card form doesn't build trust. We collect payment after we've met you, walked your home, and you've decided we're the right fit. Cash, check, Venmo, Cash App, or crypto — whatever works for you. If a sitter wants payment up front, that's a sign they don't expect to earn it.

Free 20-minute visit at your home. You walk us through feeding routines, where things live, the quirks of your animals, your security situation. Your pets meet us. We answer any questions. By the end of it you'll know whether we're a fit — and so will we. No pressure either way.

14 or more days before start — no charge (minus a $15 processing fee). 7– 13 days before start — 50% of the booking. Less than 7 days before start — full rate. Documented emergencies handled case by case. Genuine emergencies (medical, family, weather) always get a human conversation — we’d rather work it out than enforce a contract.

Both. Some animals need overnight company, some are happier with two or three drop-ins a day. We'll talk through what your animals actually need and quote accordingly. Most clients land somewhere in the middle — a long evening visit plus shorter morning and midday check-ins.

Yes, when our calendar allows. The honest truth: we take a small number of clients, so last-minute is sometimes possible and sometimes not. Send a text — we'll know within a few hours.

Yes — chickens at home, and a soft spot for every animal we sit. We mention this so you know we genuinely understand the morning-and-evening rhythm of caring for a living thing. We won't be coordinating sits with our own pet care — when we're at your home, we're at your home.

We almost never cancel — that's the whole point of taking a small number of clients. If something genuinely unavoidable comes up (medical, family emergency), we'll tell you the moment we know, return any payment in full, and help you find someone we trust. No drama, no spin.
